During our time in St Ives, we hosted 3 workshops, kindly funded by the Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust & the Rotary Club of St Ives.
The first workshop was with the Y6 pupils of Newlyn School, who joined us on our very first morning in the building! With no art yet made, their job was to help us kick-start the installation by exploring the spaces & beach, finding curious items & traces to make work out of & to use as sound sources. This resulted in a number of exciting found object mini-sculptures & mixed-media works. Thanks to the class & their teacher Jo Fitzgerald! Scroll down for workshops 2 & 3.

Workshop 2 participants came from different arts disciplines at Falmouth University. These artists joined us towards the end of our 1st week, & really contributed to the work we were doing, giving us new perspectives on the spaces & approaches to working with them & materials. Our thanks to Bianca Cocco, Jane Birbeck, Rosie Goss, & Rusne Stankeviciute.
Workshop 3 was held on our final day, with Y5 pupils from St Uny in Carbis Bay. With the installation fully developed, the students were able to investigate both spaces using magnifying glasses, bringing their discoveries to bear in some excellent graphic scores that we all enjoyed playing. Thanks to the pupils & to their teacher Leona Quirk. SUSHI!!
